Three black HORSEWOOD bottles with a horse illustration, 60 capsules each

Quick answer

Horsewood is meant to support libido, blood flow and male response through a daily 118 mg blend.

Tongkat ali and boron cover the hormone angle, horny goat weed the desire angle, and saw palmetto, nettle, wild yam and sarsaparilla round it out.

Check the amounts on the ingredients page.

How is Horsewood supposed to work?

Horsewood is meant to work as a daily support blend, not as a quick fix. Two capsules deliver seven ingredients that each have a link to libido, hormones or men's health.

The sales page puts it in its own words: “Support for healthy blood flow & male response” and “Natural support for libido & desire.” Here is the plan, one step at a time, with the honest catch at each step.

  1. 1

    Two capsules a day

Each serving carries 118 mg of seven label lines, taken with an 8 oz glass of water.

  2. 2

    The hormone angle

Tongkat ali and boron have small studies on testosterone, run at much higher doses than the label.

  3. 3

    The desire angle

Horny goat weed comes from traditional sexual-health use. Its human evidence is thin.

  4. 4

    The men's-health herbs

Saw palmetto and nettle are prostate herbs. Wild yam and sarsaparilla are folk roots with no hormone effect.

  5. 5

    A daily routine

The formula is built for steady daily use. No timeline or result is promised.

What does the Horsewood seller graphic say about how it works?

The seller graphic keeps it simple: take Horsewood as directed, as a botanical formula, for daily wellness, every day. It describes a habit, not a body process.

That is a fair way to frame a supplement. It also leaves the details to the label, which sets the dose at 2 capsules.

Seller graphic titled How Horsewood Works with four tiles reading take as directed, botanical formula, daily wellness and every day beside a black bottle
The seller's four-tile graphic names a routine, not a mechanism. “Take as directed” means the label dose of 2 capsules, even though the sales page says 1.

What the four tiles mean

  • Take as directed: 2 capsules a day with water, per the label.
  • Botanical formula: six plant extracts and one boron chelate.
  • Daily wellness: a support claim, not a treatment claim.
  • Every day: steady use, with no on-demand effect promised.

What job does each Horsewood ingredient have?

Each Horsewood ingredient was picked for a role, and the research behind each role is uneven. The table pairs the role with what human studies found and how the label amount compares.

The role column is our reading of the formula. The label itself does not assign roles.

Amounts and research doses are compared in detail on the Horsewood ingredients page.

Can the herbs in Horsewood raise testosterone?

Two Horsewood ingredients have small human studies on testosterone, and two others have none. Tongkat ali and boron are the hormone pair. Wild yam and sarsaparilla only sound like hormone herbs.

Pooled tongkat ali trials found a rise in total testosterone, but they were few, small and mixed (Leisegang et al., 2022). Older men with low levels saw a rise at 100 or 200 mg a day over 12 weeks (Chinnappan et al., 2021).

The roots that do not make hormones

Wild yam holds a compound that labs can turn into hormones, but the body cannot (RxList, n.d.). In older adults, three weeks of wild yam left DHEA-S levels unchanged (Araghiniknam et al., 1996). The claim that sarsaparilla becomes a steroid is false (RxList, n.d.).

How does the tongkat ali in Horsewood work in the body?

The honest answer is that studies measured hormone levels, not the exact pathway. In stressed adults, 200 mg a day for 4 weeks lowered saliva cortisol and raised saliva testosterone versus placebo (Talbott et al., 2013).

A small pilot with no placebo group gave active seniors 400 mg a day for 5 weeks and saw higher testosterone and grip strength (Henkel et al., 2014).

Horsewood holds 10 mg of a 100:1 extract. That is far below every dose above, and the label does not say what the extract is standardized to. The 100:1 tongkat ali article explains why the 1,000 mg figure is a conversion.

Does the horny goat weed in Horsewood work like Viagra?

No. Horny goat weed is an herb with a traditional reputation, while ED drugs are tested prescription medicines. Horsewood is not a substitute for them.

Claims for sexual function have not been proven in rigorous controlled trials (NIDDK LiverTox, 2022). No clinical study sets a dose, and products sold in stores usually hold 250 to 500 mg (Drugs.com, 2026). Horsewood holds 8 mg.

Why “works like Viagra” is a red flag. FDA has found hidden sildenafil, tadalafil and other drugs in many sexual-enhancement products sold as supplements (FDA, 2026). Those hidden drugs can drop blood pressure dangerously with nitrates (FDA, 2023). We found no FDA tainted-product notice for Horsewood, but that is not proof of safety.

Does Horsewood increase blood flow?

Horsewood claims “support for healthy blood flow & male response,” but no study has measured that with this formula. None of the sources we checked tested blood flow for these ingredients at these amounts.

Supplement claims like this one are not pre-approved by FDA and must carry a disclaimer (FDA, 2024). The Horsewood label carries it.

Can a supplement fix erectile dysfunction?

No. Horsewood is not a treatment for ED. Men who develop ED have about a 25% higher risk of later heart and blood vessel events (Thompson et al., 2005), and ED may point to hardened arteries, high blood pressure or diabetes (NIDDK, 2024). If erections have changed, see a doctor first.

Is there a study on the Horsewood formula?

No. No clinical study of the finished Horsewood formula has been published. Every result on this page comes from a single ingredient, usually at a much higher dose.

US regulators expect health claims to rest on good human trials that match the product's dose and formula (FTC, 2022).

A formula trial

A placebo-controlled study of the exact 2-capsule serving.

A batch lab report

An independent test of a real lot, including a screen for hidden drugs.

Standardized extracts

The marker compound for tongkat ali and the icariin in horny goat weed.

None of the three is published yet. Until then, judge Horsewood by its label, and read the Horsewood side effects page before you start.

Does Horsewood work right away?

No. Horsewood is a daily supplement, and the maker publishes no timeline. Single-ingredient studies ran from a few days to 6 months, most for weeks.

Give a routine a fair trial and judge it inside the 60-day money-back window. What to expect week by week is on the Horsewood results timeline.

How Horsewood works: common questions

Questions people type into Google and Bing, answered from the label and the sources on this page.

How is Horsewood supposed to work?

It is meant to support libido, blood flow and male response with a daily blend of seven herbs and a mineral. The idea rests on single-ingredient research, not on a study of the formula.

Does Horsewood increase blood flow?

The sales page claims support for healthy blood flow. No study has measured blood flow with this formula, so that effect is not shown.

Can herbs raise testosterone?

A few may, a little, in some men. Tongkat ali raised total testosterone in small pooled trials at 100 to 600 mg a day (Leisegang et al., 2022). Wild yam and sarsaparilla do not turn into hormones.

How does tongkat ali work in the body?

The trials measured hormones, not the exact pathway. Stressed adults on 200 mg a day had lower cortisol and higher saliva testosterone after 4 weeks (Talbott et al., 2013).

Does horny goat weed work like Viagra?

No. It is an herb, not a prescription drug, and its sexual-function claims have not been proven in rigorous trials (NIDDK LiverTox, 2022).

Is there a study on the Horsewood formula?

No clinical study of the finished formula has been published. All the research cited here tested single ingredients.

Can a supplement fix erectile dysfunction?

No supplement is an approved ED treatment, and Horsewood is not one. ED can signal heart or blood vessel disease, so see a doctor.

Does Horsewood work right away?

No timeline is published by the maker. It is a daily supplement, not an on-demand pill, and studies of its ingredients lasted from days to months.
